Replaced the one that came with the sink
The plastic original had gone soft and grey and I was picking wet food out of it with a fork. This lifts out in one piece and tips straight into the bin. Not a hard sell.
Cornelius Factories Inc — est. 2001
One steel basket that sits in your sink drain, catches everything you tip down it, and lifts straight out to the bin. When it is not doing that, it holds your sponge.
304 stainless · 25-year guarantee · 60-day returns
Model CF-104
A flat 304 collar and a perforated basket that drop into a standard sink drain. It catches what you tip down the sink, lifts out by the tab, and holds your sponge in between.
25-year guarantee. 60-day returns.
What you are buying
A flat 304 collar and a perforated basket. No clips to snap and no mesh screen to tear — the two things that kill the basket already in your sink.
Grip the tab, lift it clear, tip it into the bin. No fishing about in standing water and no picking wet food off a screen.
Between jobs it holds your sponge and scrubber above the sink floor, draining through the perforations instead of going sour in a puddle.
How it works
It replaces the flimsy basket already sitting in your drain. Everything else stays exactly as it is.
Lift out whatever is sitting in your drain now and set the collar in its place. No tools, no fitting, nothing to screw down.
Pour, scrape and rinse straight down it. The solids stay in the basket and the water goes exactly where it always went.
Once a day, grip the tab and empty it into the bin. Rinse it if you feel like it. That is the entire routine.
Est. 2001
We have made this basket, and quietly improved it, since 2001.
Cornelius began supplying sink fittings to commercial kitchens in 2001, where a part that fails costs somebody a service. The CF-104 is the domestic version of that same standard: 304 stainless, dimensionally checked every batch, guaranteed twenty-five years because we expect it to outlast that.

The sponge thing is underrated
Bought it for the drain and now use it just as much as a sponge rest. No more slimy dish sitting on the worktop going sour.
Sink stopped backing up
Turned out my slow drain was months of coffee grounds getting past a torn mesh screen. Not had it since this went in.
If the steel cracks, rusts through, or the tab fails in normal household use, we replace it. No receipt hunting, no return shipping, no argument.
