A drain basket is about as simple as an object gets. That is exactly why the details are the entire product.
A flat 304 collar that sits on the sink and a perforated basket that hangs beneath it. No clips, no hinges, no plastic ring waiting to go brittle and snap — which is what kills the basket that came with your sink.
Pour a pan of pasta water through it. Sweep a chopping board straight in. Tip out whatever is left in the bowl. It holds the solids and lets the water go, which is the entire job and the reason your trap stops filling up.
Grip the tab, lift it clear, tip it into the bin. You never put a hand into standing water and you never pick wet food off a mesh screen with your fingers.

Replaced the one that came with the sink
The plastic original had gone soft and grey and I was picking wet food out of it with a fork. This lifts out in one piece and tips straight into the bin. Not a hard sell.

Cornelius began supplying sink fittings to commercial kitchens in 2001, where a part that fails costs somebody a service. The CF-104 is the domestic version of that same standard: 304 stainless, dimensionally checked every batch, guaranteed twenty-five years because we expect it to outlast that.
If the steel cracks, rusts through, or the tab fails in normal household use, we replace it. No receipt hunting, no return shipping, no argument.

The basket is 100 mm (3.93 in) across and 60 mm (2.36 in) deep, sized for a standard kitchen sink drain opening, and the collar spans 255 mm. Measure the opening in yours before ordering. If it is appreciably smaller or larger than 100 mm this is not the right part, and we would rather you knew now.
No. It is perforated around the wall as well as across the base, so the open area is far greater than the single flat screen in a standard basket. The sink empties at the rate it always did until the basket is genuinely full, which is your cue to empty it.
Noodles, rice, coffee grounds, tea leaves, vegetable peel, seeds and the general debris that otherwise builds up in the trap. The 3 mm perforation is the deliberate compromise: fine enough to hold grounds and grains, open enough that water never backs up.
Yes, and most owners end up doing it. The basket holds a sponge and a scrubber together, above the sink floor, and everything drains through the perforations straight into the sink. It is the reason people who bought it for the drain keep mentioning it for something else.
Yes, either rack, indefinitely. Steel does not degrade on hot cycles the way moulded plastic does. In practice a rinse under the tap is usually enough, because there is nothing porous for residue to cling to.
